Manufacturing of SJ Paper brand office products began in 1984 in the inner city of Toledo, Ohio. Our management and personnel have always been reflective of a diverse inner city population and have worked diligently to provide new jobs and opportunities. At the beginning of each school year, we try to give back to the community from which we came, by awarding three college scholarships to deserving student candidates.
Over the past several years our companies have experienced significant growth as a result of increased exposure in office product catalogs and growing support for Minority Business Enterprises as suppliers to large government corporations and educational institutions. Many end users have switched to our items from other brands and are extremely satisfied with our high quality standards.
In 2003, International Paper introduced a new WaterShed®/CutLess® Manila paper. With their technical assistance, we were able to switch all our manufacturing of reinforced folders to this superior paper offering our customers better value at a competive price.
International Paper has now introduced EverFile®, a superior archival Manila paper that meets PAT photographic storage standards. This paper also has anti-microbial features which protect the paper from odor, mold, mildew, humidity and aging brittleness. We are proud to announce for 2005 our new line of folders for storage of archival papers.
We have recently moved our factory to an economic development zone in New Jersey. This particular area has a large minority labor pool, allowing us to continue with an important aspect of our corporate mission. Our new factory requires skilled management. We are particularly proud to have our son, Seldon Hill II join our company as Vice President, Operations. Seldon II will soon complete his degree in business management and has already proven himself as a focused and energetic manager. This management addition also allows us to achieve our goal of maintaining a family oriented business; thus, helping to insure our longevity.
